But the believer may have an easier time thanking God for other things like health, safety, and life itself. People have to define goodness and evil, and then be responsible for it, because there's no god to do that.

As a Christian when I offer to pray for another person in time of need there is no desire to prosyletize or evangelise within. Which is what our godless universe is.

If anyone is passively aggressively saying prayers for me it does not signify anything to me. Neither will a spiritual person of any faith or creed be offended. And then I think of the research that indicated that people who were told they were being prayed for were more likely to have negative outcomes, post surgery, than those prayed for but not told of it. Again, you’ll need to tailor your response to each individual situation. I am yet to meet a Moslem who is offended that I would be praying for him or her.

Imagining that there's a god that's in control, and that whatever said god ordains is good, is hogwash. But why is it necessary to share the fact you are praying for someone publicly.
